FLORENCE, Ala. -- Montevallo's Kami Kapaku scored three goals and Stacey Balaam added two goals and two assists as the Falcons picked up a 7-1 Gulf South Conference women's soccer victory over North Alabama Sunday at North Florence Park.

UNA, 7-10-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the GSC, trailed 2-0 early but got a goal from Paige Hess at the 34 minute mark to make it 2-1. That would be all the offense the Lions could muster as Montevallo added five more goals on the way to the win. Montevallo improved to 11-6 overall and 6-1 in the GSC.

UNA was out-shot 28-15 in the game and Lion goalkeeper Carly Rhodes had  seven saves.

Kapatku scored the first goal just 8:13 into the game off an assist from Balaam. Eight minutes later, at 16:33, Paula Radmard scored off an assist from Natalir Martineau to make it 2-0. Tassia Augusto assited Hess on her goal to cut the Falcons lead to 2-1. It was Hess' fourth goal of the season and the eighth assist for Augusto.

Kapatku scored five minutes later, at 39:14, off another assist from Balaam to make it 3-1 at the half.

The second half was all Montevallo as Kapatku scored her third goal off an assist from Radmard at 51:42.

Balaam then scored goals in the 53rd and 67th minutes and Adele Jackson scored at 79:08.

UNA hosts Birmingham-Southern on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and will close its season at home on October 30 against Austin Peay.
