Return to UNA Soccer Homepage >>>

FLORENCE -- Lynn University netted two goals in a 1:21 span of the second half and held North Alabama scoreless as the Lions suffered their first loss of the season, 2-0.

The first half ended in a scoreless tie, even though Lynn had eight shots to just one for UNA. The Lions kept the game scoreless until the 51:45 mark of the second half when Raisa Kanji put a ball past UNA keeper Carly Rhodes. Kanji scored again, off an assist from Sarah Mendelberg, just 1:21 later and Lynn led 2-0.

UNA got three shots in the second half but couldn't score on Lynn goalkeeper Natalie Feller.

With the win, Lynn improved to 4-1, while UNA fell to 3-1. It snapped the first three-game winning streak to start a season in UNA history.

The Lions host Georgia College and State Sunday at 1 p.m.
