Alabama women's soccer team held a one goal
lead with just over five minutes left in
regulation play but couldn't hold on as the
Lions fell to Southern Indiana, 4-3.
UNA is now 4-4
overall, while Southern Indiana improved to
2-4-1.
North Alabama
took the lead 15:23 on a goal by Natalie
Sherk, off an assist from Tassia Augusto.
SIU tied the game at 38:51 on a goal by
Julie Collins, then took the lead at 51:30
of the second half on a goal by Shauni
Boudia. The Lions tied the game in the 64th
minute on Sherk's second goal, this time on
an assist from Alison Woodman.
At the 84:15
mark, Augusto netted a goal off an assist
from Kelli Coffman and UNA led 3-2. The lead
only lasted two minutes, however, as Boudia
got her second goal in the 87th minute.
Just 4:17 into overtime, Collins got her
second goal of the day and SIU pulled out a
4-3 win.
