women's soccer team recorded its
seventh shutout of the season and
registered a key Gulf South
Conference win at the UNA Soccer
Field Friday, downing Alabama-
Huntsville 2-0. It was UNA's first
win over the Chargers in soccer
since 2003. The Lions are now 10-1-1
overall and 2-0 in GSC play.
Alabama-Huntsville falls to 5-5
overall and 1-2 in the GSC.
Freshman Chloe Roberts of Plymouth,
England scored both of the Lions
goals and now has 18 goals on the
season. She got her first goal in
just the sixth minute of play off an
assist from Hollie Loud. Her second
goal came at 39:44 off an assist
from Jo Chubb.
UNA is now 8-0 at home this season
and has allowed just two goals in
eight home matches, while notching
six shutouts.
UNA out-shot UAH 20-6 and UNA
goalkeeper Alex McLay recorded five
saves.
North Alabama will play at Christian
Brothers on October 6 in the first
of five straight road games.
