UNA SOCCER TEAM READY FOR GSC TOURNAMENT

FLORENCE -- For the first time since 1999, the University of North Alabama women's soccer team will compete in the Gulf South Conference Tournament this weekend when the Lions travel to Pensacola to take on Alabama-Huntsville on Friday, November 6.

UNA, 17-2-1 overall, made GSC Tournament appearances in 1997 and 1999 but lost in the semifinals to Lincoln Memorial on both trips.

This year's two-day tournament will be held at Brosnaham Park in Pensacola, Fla., Friday November 6 and Sunday November 8.

UNA will take on the Chargers at 11 a.m. Friday in one semifinal, and Christian Brothers will play host West Florida in the other semifinal at 1:30 p.m.

The Championship Game will be on Sunday, November 8 at 11 a.m.

UNA defeated UAH 2-0 in a meeting earlier this season in Florence.

DIRECTIONS: Brosnaham Park is conveniently located off of Ten Mile Road in Pensacola. Directions to the Park can be obtained here.

TICKETS: Tickets are available to this year's event at the gate. Ticket prices are as follows: Two-day pass: $8 (Admission to all six matches); Single-day pass: $5 (Admission to four matches Friday and/or two matches Sunday). HOTELS/LODGING: The following hotels are offering discounted rates for fans and parents of the GSC Soccer Championships.
