MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The University of North Alabama women's soccer team placed four student-athletes on the 2009 Daktronics All-South Region team, including first-team all-region picks Chloe Roberts and Nikki Brown.

Tassia Augusto and Julia Osmond earned second-team All-South Region honors.

The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The four UNA players named to the all-region squad helped direct the Lions to the most successful season in school history with a 19-4-1 record, second place finish in the Gulf South Conference, first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and first NCAA Tournament victory.

Roberts, a freshman from Plymouth, England, set numerous UNA records this Fall, including most goals scored in a season (32) and most points in a season (79). She was previously selected first-team All-Gulf South Conference, GSC Freshman of the Year and GSC Player of the Year.

She also ranks among the NCAA Division II scoring leaders. Roberts earned three GSC Player of the Week honors in 2009.

Brown, a freshman from Bognor Regis, England, has led Division II for most of the season in assists with 16.
She shattered the UNA single season assist mark and also set a single game record with five. She also added two goals to UNA's offensive attack. She was also a first-team All-GSC pick.

Osmond, a freshman from Southampton, England, was a defensive force for the Lions in 2009 and added three goals and one assist on the offensive end. She was previously named first-team All-GSC as well.

Augusto, a senior from Sao Paulo Brazil, is UNA's all-time leading score with 64 career goals and 20 assists for 148 total points. She was a two-time GSC Player of the Week selection and earned All-GSC Tournament honors.
