HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Waterloo High School for coach Michael Stamps. She was an All- State selection four straight years from 2003-06. She was a three-time member of the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) Super 12 Softball Team and was named the ASWA State Softball Player of the Year her junior and senior seasons. Throughout her prep career, she set or extended 10 Alabama high school single- season softball records including most wins (twice), most shutouts, most no-hitters, lowest ERA, (four times) and most strikeouts (twice). In 2005, she set the national high school record for most shutouts in a season with 31. Was named the MVP of the AHSAA State Softball Tournament during the Cougars' three state championships in 2003, 2005 and 2006.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Andrea Hope Palmer. She was born on August 21, 1988. She is the daughter of Jamie and Phyllis Palmer and has one brother, Chad.
