UNA 2006: Maas
played and started in 59 games for the Lions last
season. The First Team, All-Gulf South Conference
selection led the team in hitting with a .411 batting
average, going 86-of-209 at the plate for the year. Her
86 hits not only led the team, but also set a new school
record that had stood for six years. In 2006, she added
50 runs scored, four doubles and 21 RBI. She produced a
team-high 29 multiple- hit games, including 17 two-hit
performances and 12 three-hit showings. She went 3-for-4
with a double and two RBI on Mar. 7 against GSC foe West
Alabama. She also compiled a 12-game hitting streak from
Feb. 24 to Mar. 15.
UNA 2005: Saw action in 54 games as a true
freshman for the Lions in 2005. Her .337 batting average
was second on the team. She also had a .409 slugging
percentage and was one of three players to record more
than 60 hits on the year. she totaled 18 RBI, five
doubles, a triple and two home runs. Her first career
homer came during an 11-9 win over Central Arkansas on
February 12.
HIGH SCHOOL: Maas prepped at Bloomingdale
High School under coach Mike Clamon. She played center
field for the Class 6A Bulls and helped lead the team to
district and regional championships in 2004. As a
senior, she earned all-county, all- conference and all-
suncoast honors and was named second team all-state. She
also lettered in volleyball for four years.
PERSONAL: Her full name is Kristin Yvonne
Maas. She was born on May 30, 1986. She is the daughter
of Rick and Cheryl Maas and has one brother, Erik, a
former graduate assistant coach for the UNA baseball
team. Majoring in criminal justice and pre-law at UNA. |
