BIRMINGHAM
– Officials with the Gulf South Conference
have named North Alabama center fielder
Lindsey Greene as the East Division Player
of the Week.
The sophomore
from Decatur earns the award for the first
time in her career after leading the Lions
to a perfect week in GSC play. She hit .714
in four games as UNA (19-7) swept
double-headers at West Georgia and West
Alabama.
Greene went
10-for-14 at the plate with two doubles and
three RBI. She scored six runs, and reached
base 13 times capping off the week with a
4-for-4 performance against UWA on Sunday.
She becomes the
third UNA player to win a weekly award this
season. On Feb. 27, senior Jessica Liddy and
junior Sabrina Roberts were named player and
pitcher of the week for the Lions.
