GREENE, LIDDY EARN ALL-REGION HONORS

STARKVILLE, Miss., – The University of North Alabama softball team placed a pair of players on the 2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Region team. Junior Lindsey Greene and senior Jessica Liddy each received second-team honors in the South Region following the Lions’ 32-21 season.

Greene, a centerfielder from Decatur, adds her first regional honor to her first team, All-Gulf South Conference selection this season. She led the team in batting average (.393), hits (70) and runs scored (45) on the year.

Liddy, a catcher from Jupiter, Fla., wraps up her career at UNA with another all-region selection, making her the most decorated player in the program’s history. The regional selection is her third straight after earning first-team honors in 2005 and 2006. This season, she was also a second-team All-GSC selection after hitting .316 on the year with 48 hits and 12 doubles. Her 35 RBI led the team while her five home runs in 2007 gave her 31 for her career to tie a school record.
