ALEXANDER CITY
– The University of North Alabama
tennis teams wrapped up a successful fall
season over the weekend at the CACC
Invitational. The men’s and women’s teams
combined to go 6-0 at the event, hosted by
Central Alabama Community College.
The men’s A
Flight singles competition featured an all
UNA final with Zac Bereznicki and Martin
Siejka facing off in the championship. The
Lions’ Chris Sodemann and Ilie Zenden also
met in the finals fo the B Flight
tournament.
In A fight
doubles competition, Bereznicki and Sodemann
gave UNA the championship with an 8-4 win
over the University of. Zenden and Siejka
also took home the B doubles title by
beating Gadsden State 8-1 in the final.
In the women’s
event Mallory Waites fell to Central
Florida’s Katerina Mazachova in the
semi-final of the singles tournament. Yuliya
Zelenskaya got revenge for the Lions by
taking down Mazachova 7-6, 6-1 in the
finals. Waites and Zelenskaya took home the
women’s doubles championship with an 8-2 win
against Brenau University to secure the
clean sweep
