PENSACOLA, Fla.,
– West Florida’s top-five ranked men’s and
women’s tennis teams proved to be too much
for North Alabama Sunday at the Gulf South
Conference Jamboree in Pensacola, Fla. The
Argonauts top-ranked men’s team downed UNA
8-1, while the fifth-ranked UWF women’s team
posted a 9-0 victory.
The Lion men’s
team had a strong showing against the
top-ranked UWF squad. The No. 1 and No. 2
singles matches went to extra sets with
UNA’s Bruna Zuleta and Everton Silva
producing strong showings. The two also
teamed up to pick up the Lions’ only win of
the day with an 8-6 victory at No. 1
doubles.
