-- On the heels of four straight wins, the
University of North Alabama women's tennis
team has climbed to a No. 4 ranking in the
South Region, and the UNA men are also
fourth in the region.
In the latest
rankings released Thursday by the NCAA, the
UNA women are fourth in the South Region
behind Valdosta State, West Florida and
Delta State. After a 2-4 start, the Lions
have won four straight to climb to 6-4 and
are 2-1 in the region.
In the men's
rankings, Valdosta State also leads the
South Region, followed by West Florida,
Ouachita Baptist and UNA.
The UNA women
are hoping to qualify for the NCAA regional
tournament for the 10th straight year. The
UNA men have qualified for NCAA post-season
play 10 times since 1995.
