FLORENCE,
Ala., – The University of North Alabama volleyball team
extended its winning streak over Valdosta State Friday evening with
a 3-0 victory at Flowers Hall. The 30-20, 30-24, 30-16 win upped the
Lions’ all-time record against the Blazers to 26-0.
Laura Bellinger’s 10 kills, 34 assists and 14 digs led the team,
which improves to 11-5 overall with a perfect 4-0 mark in Gulf South
Conference play. The senior from Portage, Mich., also hit .600 for
the match to record her fourth triple-double of the season.
A total of four Lion players reached double figures in kills on the
night. Danielle Palasak and Nilcia Oliveira joined Bellinger with 10
kills, while Megan Stout turned in a team-high 12 for the match.
Defensively, Ashley Hill added 10 digs on the night.
UNA will host West Florida Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in another
key GSC match.
