Three members of the University of North Alabama volleyball team
have been recognized for their work in the classroom as well as the
court. Seniors Dee Ayres, Megan Stout and Laura Bellinger were named
to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, making UNA the
most-represented school in Division II.
Ayres and Stout
received first-team honors, meaning the two will be placed on the
ballot for Academic All-America consideration. Ayres, a senior from
Rainbow City, Ala., sports a 4.0 grade point average with a major in
professional biology.
Stout majors in
mathematics and physics and owns a 3.8 GPA. The senior from
Montgomery, Ala., was also named to the all-tournament team at the
South Central Region Tournament.
Bellinger adds her
honor to a growing list of awards, which includes player-of-the-year
accolades in the Gulf South Conference East Division and the
Daktronics All-South Central Region squad. The senior from Portage,
Mich., has a 3.28 GPA with a major in public relations. |
