Three members of the University of North Alabama volleyball team have been recognized for their work in the classroom as well as the court. Seniors Dee Ayres, Megan Stout and Laura Bellinger were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, making UNA the most-represented school in Division II.

Ayres and Stout received first-team honors, meaning the two will be placed on the ballot for Academic All-America consideration. Ayres, a senior from Rainbow City, Ala., sports a 4.0 grade point average with a major in professional biology.

Stout majors in mathematics and physics and owns a 3.8 GPA. The senior from Montgomery, Ala., was also named to the all-tournament team at the South Central Region Tournament.

Bellinger adds her honor to a growing list of awards, which includes player-of-the-year accolades in the Gulf South Conference East Division and the Daktronics All-South Central Region squad. The senior from Portage, Mich., has a 3.28 GPA with a major in public relations.
