PALASAK’S DOUBLE-DOUBLE, PRATT’S CAREER NIGHT LEADS LIONS
FLORENCE – Danielle Palasak
recorded her seventh double-double of the season to lead the
University of North Alabama volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep over
Barry Friday night at Flowers Hall. The outside hitter from Garden
City, Mich., got 20 kills and 13 digs as the Lions came away with
their third straight win in the 30-27, 30-26, 30-21 victory.
The first two
games used a similar script as the Lions fell behind early. UNA
trailed 20-15 in each of the first two sets before pulling out close
wins. In the third contest, the Lions led 20-19 before using an 8-1
run to take control of the game.
Palasak, a
senior, hit .439 for the match as North Alabama improved to 6-7 on
the season. Kelly Pratt also contributed on the night with a
career-high 16 kills to round out the top hitters for UNA. Alison
Jacobs added 39 assists while Jessica Hansen continued to produce
solid defensive numbers with 25 digs for the Lions.
North Alabama
will play at home twice on Saturday to wrap up play at the UNA
Regional Crossover. The Lions will face Nova Southeastern at 11:30
a.m. before taking on GSC West Division rival Harding at 7:30 p.m.
