LIONS PREPARE FOR BIG HOME MATCH AGAINST WEST GEORGIA
MONTEVALLO – After dropping the
first game to homestanding Montevallo, the University of North
Alabama volleyball team regrouped to post three straight wins and
down the Lady Falcons 3-1 Tuesday evening in Gulf South Conference
action.
The 18-30,
30-17, 30-8, 30-23 win by the Lions improves the team to 11-10
overall with a 4-2 conference record. Montevallo falls to 4-17, 1-4
on the year.
Danielle
Palasak led all players with 19 kills on the night. The senior from
Garden City, Mich., also added 14 digs to earn another double-double
for the Lions. Teammate Whitney Sanders also reached double digits
in kills with 12 for the match.
Defensively,
four players recorded at least 12 digs for UNA. Jessica Hansen was
tops in the category with a match-high 16 digs. Katie Haseltine
joined Palasak with 14 digs, while setter Alison Jacobs added 12
digs to go along with her 42 assists.
The Lions will
return home Friday, Oct. 5, for a key GSC showdown against West
Georgia. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Flowers Hall. |
