BIRMINGHAM – For the first time in her career, North
Alabama’s Danielle Palasak has been named the Gulf South Conference
East Division Offensive Player of the Week according to league
officials Tuesday.
The senior
outside hitter helped the Lions go 2-2 last week, posting a pair of
20-plus kill performances at the Argonaut Regional Crossover in
Pensacola, Fla.
The Garden
City, Mich., native had 76 total kills on the weekend for a 5.85
average. Against Saint Leo, she hit .455 and totaled 18 kills to
give the Lions a 3-0 win and head coach Stephanie Radecki her 100th
victory at UNA.
Palasak
represents the first UNA player to win the weekly conference
offensive award this season. Junior libero Jessica Hansen received
the defensive honor on Aug. 28th. |
