– Following the 2007 season, the University of North Alabama
volleyball team placed two players on the American Volleyball
Coaches Association (AVCA) All-South Central Region squad. Senior
Danielle Palasak was a first-team selection while junior Jessica
Hansen received an honorable mention.
Palasak, an
outside hitter from Garden City, Mich., led the Gulf South
Conference East Division in kills per game with a 4.52 average. She
was named the division’s offensive player of the week a league-high
four times and had a career-high 30 kills on Oct. 20 against
Rollins. She completed her senior season with 579 kills, 345 digs
and a team-high 18 double-doubles.
Hansen, a
libero from Council Bluffs, Iowa, was named the GSC East Defensive
Player of the Week three times on the year. She set school records
for most digs in a season (691) and digs-per-game average (5.57).
She recorded a career-high 42 digs on Nov. 3 against
Birmingham-Southern. |
