FLORENCE
– University of North Alabama head volleyball coach Stephanie
Radecki has announced the signing of two players to the 2008
recruiting class. Local standouts Cassie Daniels and Lauren
Greenhill have each signed national letters of intent and will play
for the Lions next season.
Daniels
finished up her senior volleyball season at Winston County High
School, leading the Yellow Jackets to at state runner-up finish last
year. WCHS was also state runner-up in 2003 and advanced to the
Elite Eight in 2004 and 2005. She has earned All-State honors at the
Class 2A and Class 3A levels and owns several state single-season
records. Her 4,710 career assists is also a state record.
Greenhill
prepped at the Class 6A level at Florence High School. She played on
the outside, middle and was a defensive specialists during her
career. She was an all-area selection in 2006 and was named to the
TimesDaily All-Area squad as a team captain last season.
“We are very
excited to welcome both Cassie and Lauren to our program,” said
Radecki. “We have worked with both of them over the years through
our camps. They are both very talented and have extremely strong
work ethic, which will onlly help us continue the strong tradition
of success at UNA.” |
