the UWA
campus.
The 3-1
win puts
the
Tigers
(17-5
overall,
2-0 GSC)
in sole
possession
of first
place in
the GSC
East
Division.
With the
loss,
UNA
falls to
10-10 on
the year
with a
3-2
conference
showing.
The
Lions
were
able to
steal
game one
by
rebounding
from a
17-10
deficit
and
record
the
26-24
victory.
An
attack
error by
the
Tigers
gave UNA
its
first
lead at
23-22.
After
UWA
rebounded
to take
a 24-23
lead,
the
Lions
scored
the next
three
points
to
secure
the win.
North
Alabama
would
not see
much of
a lead
the rest
of the
match.
West
Alabama
opened
double-digit
advantages
early in
each of
the next
three
sets to
take the
match
with
25-12,
25-19
and
25-15
victories.
Three
players
reached
double
digits
in
kills,
led by
the
Tigers’
Jessica
Crook,
who had
a
match-high
17 on
the
night.
Sarah
Roberts
had 14
kills
for the
Lions
while
Cara
Gregg
added
12.
Alison
Jacobs
added 39
assists
with
Lauren
Greenhill
tossing
in 18
digs.
UNA will
face
Puerto
Rico-Rio
Piedras
at home
on
Friday
before
hosting
Armstrong
Atlantic
the
following
day.
Match

Friday

contest
