FLORENCE –Alison Jacobs made sure the University of North Alabama volleyball team celebrated Senior Day with a win. Playing in her final match at Flowers Hall, the Lions’ lone senior had 35 assists and set the tone for an offensive attack that hit .330 as a team during a 3-0 win over visiting West Georgia Saturday afternoon at Flowers Hall.
Cara Gregg and Sarah Roberts added 12 kills each in the 25-17, 26-24, 25-15 victory as the Lions improved to 18-13 overall with a 7-3 mark in Gulf South Conference play. With the loss, West Georgia falls to 10-18, 1-7 on the year.
Aside from her assists, Jacobs added eight kills, seven digs and a service ace. She also hit .333 for the match. Roberts added four blocks on the day.
As a team, the Lions had seven service aces and 50 kills en route to their fourth consecutive victory.
UNA will close out the regular season with a non-conference road match Tuesday against Christian Brothers. Match time is set for 7 p.m. in Memphis, Tenn.
