ROBERTS WINS SECOND STRAIGHT GSC PLAYER OF
THE WEEK AWARD

– North Alabama outside hitter Sarah Roberts
has been named the Gulf South Conference
East Division Offensive Player of the Week
for the second consecutive week. League
officials awarded the honor to Roberts after
she helped lead the Lions to a 2-0 showing
last week, with both matches coming in GSC
play.
The junior middle hitter from Maryville,
Tenn., had 24 kills in the two sweeps for a
4.00 kills-per-set average. She was also
very efficient, recording a .333 hitting
percentage.
With Roberts’ back-to-back awards, UNA has
now had a player receive the GSC weekly
honor four consecutive weeks. Libero Brigid
O’Brien was named the East Division’s top
defensive player on Sept. 8, while setter
Alison Jacobs won the league offensive award
on Sept. 15.
