– Officials with the Gulf South
Conference have named North Alabama’s
Sarah Roberts the East Division’s
Offensive Player of the Week for the
third consecutive week. The senior from
Maryville, Tenn., led the Lions to a 2-1
showing at Flowers Hall last week with
wins over Shorter College and Valdosta
State before falling to West Florida.
The
middle hitter had 46 kills in the three
matches, averaging 4.60 per set, while
recording a .293 hitting percentage. She
is currently ranked third in the GSC in
kills per set.
North
Alabama has now had a player of the week
in the East Division for five straight
weeks. Roberts’ three straight awards
was preceded by setter Alison Jacobs
winning the offensive award on Sept. 15
and Brigid O’Brien being named the
division’s top defensive player on Sept.
