Assistant Coach
STEPHANIE BURNER - 2007
Stephanie Burner
enters her second season as assistant volleyball
coach at North Alabama after a successful career
as head volleyball coach at the high school
level.
In 2006, she helped
guide the Lions through a deep post-season run,
ending in the Division II National Championship
match. UNA went 35-6 on the year, winning the
Gulf South Conference and South Central Region
tournament titles. In the post-season, the Lions
knocked off four straight ranked opponents
before falling to top-ranked Tampa in the
national finals.
Burner is the
Lion’s recruiting coordinator and works with the
team’s defensive players and outside hitters.
At Bellwood Antis School in Bellwood,
Pennsylvania, she led her team to consecutive
Mountain Conference Championships and a 41-6
record over the past two seasons. Under her
tenure, the team also advanced to the PIAA state
playoffs for the first time ever with
appearances in 2004 and 05.
Burner is a
graduate of Edinboro University, and played
under former head coach Lynn Theehs. As a
four-year member of the Fighting Scots’ program,
she set a school record for most digs in a
season with 568 in 2003. She ranks second
in career digs with 1,707.
As a senior
captain, she led Edinboro to an appearance in
the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in 2002, and
was named first team All-Atlantic Region and
All-PSAC. She was also named Edinboro’s Female
Athlete of the Year. Her junior year, she was a
Daktronics second team All-American, and was
named the PSAC volleyball MVP in 2001.
In 2006, she was
named to the Edinboro All-Time Volleyball Team.
Graduate Assistant Coach
ROBBIE BEACH - 2007

Robbie Beach enters
her third season as graduate assistant coach for
the Lions following a standout playing career at
Saint Leo University.
As the GA coach,
Beach works with the Lions' setters as well as
day-to-day office responsibilities. While
coaching at UNA, she worked with Lion setter
Laura Bellinger, who led the Gulf South
Conference in assists two seasons, earning
All-America status in 2005 and 2006.
During her tenure
at UNA, Beach has helped the Lions win three
straight GSC championships, three berths in the
NCAA Division II tournament, one South Central
Region title and a national runner-up finish in
2006.
Beach, a setter
from Dayton, Ohio, finished as SLU's career
leader in assists at 3,078 and third in career
assists average per game at 7.45. The four-year
starter was also named the Sunshine State
Conference Freshman of the Year in 2001. During
her playing career, she averaged double digits
in aces and blocks and triple digits in digs and
kills.
She graduated from
SLU in 2005 with a degree in criminology. She is
pursuing a Master's degree in criminal justice
at UNA. |
