UNA 2004: Palla played in four games during her freshman season at UNA. As the backup setter, she recorded 29 assists and produced four digs.

HIGH SCHOOL: Whitney was the setter at Vestavia Hills High School under coach Mandy Burgess.  She helped lead the Rebels to the Elite 8 in 2001, third place in state in 2002 and 6A Area 13 Championships in 2001, 2002, and 2003.  The team  also earned regional runners up honors in 2001 and 2002.  She was named 2003 team captain and received the 3D (Desire, Dedication and Determination) award in 2003.  She was honorable mention all-state and second-team all-metro in 2003.  She was a member of the St. Paul's Invitational All-Tournament  Team in 2003 and was named Female Scholar Athlete of the Week.  She also received awards for leadership and MVP.  She finished the 2003 season with 850 assists, 324 digs, 51 blocks, 51 aces and 45 kills. 

PERSONAL: Her full name is Whitney Ballard Palla.  Born April 25, 1986.  Daughter of Stan and Emmalee Palla and has one brother, John, and one sister, Morgan.  Majoring in Political Science at UNA.
