ARKADELPHIA, Ark. --
North Alabama fought back from a six-point halftime deficit and a
large deficit in the second half to force overtime but came out on
the short end of a 106-98 score to Harding in the Ouachita Baptist
Tournament.
UNA, now 1-1 overall, trailed 48-42 at intermission and trailed
throughout most of the second half but closed a five-point gap in
the final minute to force an extra period. Harding then outscored
UNA 11-3 in the extra period.
Chelsey Malone led UNA with 23 points, while Tandra Inmon had 22,
Amber Rutherford and Jameica York 18 each and Shay Ashford 12.
UNA made 11 three-point baskets in the game and shot 79 percent
(19-of-24) from the free throw line but couldn't stop Harding. The
Bisons shot 54 percent from the floor and made nine three-pointers.
UNA hosts Christian Brothers Tuesday at 6 p.m.
