ATLANTA, Ga., –
Clark Atlanta used a late scoring run to turn a six-point halftime
lead into a 79-65 win over North Alabama Saturday evening in women’s
college basketball action at the CAU Black Cat Classic.
The Lady Panthers led 34-29 at intermission, but shot 53 percent
from the floor and forced 30 turnovers on the night to come away
with the 14-point victory.
Amber Rutherford scored a team-high 24 points as the Lions shot 44
percent (22-of-50) from the floor. Tandra Inmon added 14 points for
UNA, while Shay Ashford also reached double figures with 12. As a
team, the Lions hit 5-of-18 shots from three-point range.
The loss drops the Lions’ overall record to 3-3 on the year. UNA
will face Gulf South Conference West Division foe Delta State Nov.
29th on the road. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in Cleveland, Miss.
