CENTRAL WASHINGTON DOWNS LIONS 75-57
SEATTLE, Wash.,
- A 15-2 run to end the first half put Central Washington
ahead 34-18 and North Alabama was never able to get the lead under
double digits during the final 20 minutes of a 75-57 season-opening
defeat Friday afternoon at Seattle Washington’s Sodexho Tip-Off
Classic.
The Wildcats
(1-0) led 19-16 at the 4:53 mark in the first half before pulling
away. The Lions hit just 18 percent of their shots in the first half
and went 0-of-4 from the floor with three turnovers during the CWU
run.
The lack of
three-point shooting also hurt UNA, which hit just 1-of-13 from
beyond the arc. Amber Rutherford led the Lions with 12 points while
the Wildcats had two players reach double digits in scoring.
UNA will remain
in Seattle to face the host Falcons Saturday at 7 p.m. CST.
