SEATTLE PACIFIC PICKS UP 65-44 VICTORY OVER LIONS
SEATTLE, Wash., - Seattle
Pacific opened the second half with a 16-0 run to break open a close
game and cruise to a 65-44 victory over North Alabama Saturday
evening in the final game of the Sodexho Tip-Off Classic on the SPU
campus.
UNA trailed
just 32-29 at intermission, but did not score until the 15:14 mark
of the second half. A three-pointer by Shay Ashford cut the Falcons’
lead to 48-32, but the Lions would get no closer than 10 points over
the final 20 minutes of play
The loss drops
the Lions’ record to 0-2 on the year. SPU improves to 2-0.
Tandra Inmon
led UNA with 11 points, but scored all of them in the first half.
Ashford added eight points and pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.
Less than 24
hours after hitting just 1-of-13 three-point attempts, the Lions
improved in the area, going 6-of-18 from beyond the arc. The
Falcons, however, held a commanding 44-35 rebounding advantage and
scored 40 points in the paint. UNA also had 28 turnovers leading to
27 SPU points.
The Lions will
return to Flowers Hall for their season opener on Nov. 20 against
Blue Mountain College. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
