Officials with the Gulf South
Conference have tabbed North
Alabama's Dana Jackson as the East
Division's Freshman of the Year.
The 5-10 guard from Winchester,
Tenn., was the highest-scoring
freshman in the division, averaging
12.7 points per game. She was also
third in the entire league in
three-point shooting after knocking
down 66-of-146 attempts for a 45.2
percent average.
For the year, Jackson also added 28
steals, five blocks, 38 assists and
98 rebounds. She hit 42 percent of
her shots from the floor and was
35-of-50 from the free throw line.
