FLORENCE
- University of North Alabama
women’s head basketball coach
Terry Fowler has announced the
addition of Georgia Myrex for
the upcoming recruiting class.
The Cold Spring High School
recruit has signed a National
Letter of Intent and will play
for the Lions next season.
Myrex was a first team All-State
selection as a sophomore and a
junior while helping lead the
Lady Eagles to consecutive Class
2A state championships in 2008
and 2009. The 5-8 guard has
scored more than 1,000 career
points entering her senior
season. She averaged 17.6 points
per game as a junior and was the
12th- ranked player in the state
according to the Birmingham News
Super Senior List.
“We are very fortunate to have a
student-athlete the caliber of
Georgia join our program,” said
Fowler. “She is a tireless
worker, a great competitor and
leads by example on and off the
court. She is also a very
skilled basketball player who
has the ability to handle, pass
and shoot it very well. We are
very excited that she chose to
be a part of the UNA community.”
