the University of North Alabama
women’s basketball team in a 78-39
loss to Northeastern State Saturday
in the second round of the Disney
Tip-Off Classic at the Milk House
Arena. The Lions made only three
shots from the floor in the final 20
minutes and were
0-13 from three-point range.
The defensive performance helped the
Riverhawks (1-1) turn a 32-27
half-time lead into a rout. After a
7-for-23 showing in the opening
half, UNA hit just nine percent of
its shots in the second stanza to
finish at 18.2 percent
(10-of-55) for the game.
The Lions (0-2) did not have a
player reached double digits in
scoring. Dana Jackson and Lacy Lewis
scored eight points each to lead the
team. Alix Perkins and Sarah Millar
scored 14 points apiece to lead NSU.
UNA will wrap up its Disney trip
Sunday against Stonehill. Tip-off is
set for 1:30 p.m. CST.
