DAN PRESEL
Dan Presel is in his fourth season as
assistant women’s basketball coach at North
Alabama.
He rejoined Lions’ head coach Terry Fowler,
after the two previously coached together at
Spring Hill College, where Presel spent a
total of six seasons.
Before coming to UNA, Presel spent the
2005-06 season as assistant women’s
basketball coach at the University of
Tennessee-Chattanooga, where the Lady Mocs
put together the nation’s longest winning
streak at 26 consecutive games.
Aside from recruiting, Presel also handles
strength and conditioning, as well as
specific floor work for the guards.
Presel was a pitcher on the Spring Hill
baseball team from 1996-99. He received his
bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1999. He
and his wife, the former Jill Mathias, who
played for the Lady Badgers from 1996- 2000,
have a daughter, Rian (5) and a son, Reid
(2).
MALLORY MORRING
Mallory Morring is in her second season as
graduate assistant coach at North Alabama.
A graduate of Birmingham-Southern College in
2008, she ranks first in school history for
three-pointers made in a season (82), is
tied for first for three-pointers made in a
single game (8) and is tied for third for
career three-pointers made (151).
She also attended Gadsden State Community
College where she led the nation in
three-point shooting percentage at 46.8
percent her freshman season.
Morring received her bachelor’s degree in
mathematics at BSC and is pursing teacher
certification and a master’s degree in
education at UNA.
She is a native of New Market, Ala., where
she graduated from Buckhorn High School in
2004.
