FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama volleyball team celebrated Senior Day with a 3-0 victory over Mississippi College Friday evening at Flowers Hall. The Lions hit .438 as a team in the 25-12, 25-17, 25-9 victory. The seventh straight win gives the team a 23-6 overall record with a 16-2 record in Gulf South Conference play.
UNA's lone senior, setter Andrea De Leon had 31 assists. She added nine digs and three kills on the night. The Lions will close the regular season next weekend with a GSC road swing through West Florida and Valdosta State.
On Friday, UNA jumped out to early leads in all three sets. Lexie Bradley was the only player to reach double figures in kills, recording 11 for the match with a .429 hitting percentage. Jessica Austin and Natasha Fomina added eight kills each for the Lions. Defensively, Ashtyn Kapovich led the way with 10 digs.
Mississippi College (3-25 overall, 2-15 GSC) was led by Kayana Mitchell's seven kills.
Match time at West Florida is set for 7 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the UWF Field House in Pensacola.
