PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of North Alabama volleyball team hit .404 as a team in a 3-0 semi-final win over Shorter Saturday at the Gulf South Conference Tournament. The 26-24, 25-18, 25-10 victory gives UNA a 28-5 record on the season and set up a showdown against top seed and tournament host West Florida in the title game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Against Shorter, Natasha Fomina had a match-high 17 kills and hit .429 on the day. The senior from Broomfield, Colo., recorded at least five kills in each set and added three digs and a service ace.

Peyton Lang also hit .423 for the Lions and finished the match with 13 kills and 11 digs for her 10^th double-double of the season. Jessica Austin turned in a match-leading .526 hitting percentage, getting 11 kills and two blocks for the Lions. Setter Jayden Davila-McClary produced 48 assists.

Defensively, Ashtyn Kapovich had a match-high 16 digs. Ava Carnley also had 11 digs for North Alabama.

Elizabeth Dowd led Shorter (25-9) with nine kills on the day.

The victory puts UNA in the GSC championship match for a record 25^th time. The Lions have won a conference-leading 17 GSC titles, including last season. North Alabama is now 78-27 all-time in GSC tournament play.
