CLEVELAND, Tenn., – The University of North Alabama softball team scored a season-high 16 runs off 15 hits in a 16-5 win at Lee on Saturday. The victory capped off the third consecutive three-game, Gulf South Conference sweep for UNA. The win, along with a UAH loss on the same day also moves the Lions into second place in the GSC standings with a 13-2 league record.

The middle of the lineup did the most damage for UNA (29-4 overall) as Reagan Tittle and Brooklynn Clark had three hits each. North Alabama scored 13 runs in the first three innings alone. A three-run fourth, set up the mercy-rule finish.

The Lions have now scored in double digits in seven games on the year, and have won nine games by the eight-run mercy rule.

On Saturday, Clark went 3-for-3 with an RBI and four runs scored. Tittle drove in two runs in a 3-for-4 showing and scored three times. Amy Carden was also 2-for-2 on the day while Shelby Woodard and Harlie Barkley each went 2-for-3 at the plate. The 16 hits on the day was also a season-high for the Lions.

In the circle, Hillary Carpenter got the win in the relief. The junior pitched 3.1 innings allowing just two hits with five strikeouts. She improved to 14-2 on the season.

North Alabama's double-header at Young Harris has been postponed. The Lions will now carry a 12-game winning streak to Livingston, Ala., next weekend for a three-game GSC series at West Alabama. The two teams are scheduled to play two games Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. before wrapping up the series with a single game at 2 p.m. the next day.
