SOCCER LIONS PLAY AT UAB SUNDAY AT 2:00

FLORENCE, Ala. -- With a week off after a season-opening 4-1 win over Western Kentucky, the University of North Alabama women's soccer team will play UAB Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at BBVA Field.

UAB brings a 1-1 record into the match, having lost 3-0 at Memphis and winning a 2-1 decision at home against Mercer. The Blazers were scheduled to play Louisiana Monroe on Thursday but that match was canceled.

North Alabama got goals from four different players in its opener, including goals from three newcomers.

Freshmen Alice Bussey and Mia Staley each scored a goal, as did junior transfer Chloe Fell and sophomore returnee Charlotte Kellett.

Freshman goalkeeper Payton Yates, in first collegiate match, recorded two saves.

Following the match at UAB, the Lions are scheduled to plat at Chattanooga on Feb. 26 at 3 p.m.
