LIONS FALL TO TSU IN VOLLEYBALL HOME OPENER

FLORENCE – Tennessee State raced out to early leads in each set and held off North Alabama in each frame during a 25-19, 25-20, 25-15 win over the Lions Tuesday evening at Flowers Hall. The loss leaves the UNA volleyball team with an 0-4 record on the season while TSU remains undefeated at 3-0.
 
Errors plagued the Lions throughout the match. UNA had 10 service errors and 16 attack errors while the Tigers picked up six service aces on the night.
 
Katy Floyd and Kamryn Parsonage led the Lions with 10 kills each. Parsonage added four digs and a .368 hitting percentage while Floyd also had a block and a pair of service aces. Breylee Linder led the way with 19 assists. Camy Kling also had 13 assists.
 
Aleksandra Rojecka hit .450 with 10 kills to pace Tennessee State. As a team, the Tigers hit .284 on the night, including a .407 showing in the final set.
 
UNA will host Alcorn State on Thursday. Match time is set for 6 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
