MOREHEAD, Ky., – The University of North Alabama volleyball team got 14 kills from Taylor Floyd and hit .262 as a team in a 3-0 sweep Saturday afternoon at Morehead State. With the 25-21, 25-23, 25-13 victory, the Lions move to 8-1 on the season.

In the opening set, UNA overcame an early 9-3 deficit, then pulled away late. With the score tied at 19-19, a 6-2 run gave the Lions an early 1-0 lead over the home team.

Another late run gave North Alabama a 2-0 lead in the second set. After the two teams battled to a 16-16 tie, the Lions took control with a 4-0 spurt. Morehead State got within a single point at 23-22 before an attack error against the Eagles and a kill by Floyd ended the game.

UNA saved its best performance for the third set, hitting .444 as a team in the double-digit win.

Breylee Linder had 25 assists for the match while three players reached double figures in digs. Floyd led the way, completing her double-double performance with a match-high 14 digs. Ella Ratzloff and Katie Gerig added 10 digs each.

For the weekend, Floyd and Linder were each named to the all-tournament team.

UNA will travel to Nashville, Tenn., next weekend for three matches at the Tennessee State Tiger Classic.
