VOLLEYBALL LIONS FALL 3-0 AT JACKSONVILLE STATE

JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State remained undefeated in ASUN Conference play with a 3-0 home win over the University of North Alabama volleyball team on Saturday. For the Lions, the 9-25, 12-25, 16-25 loss leaves the team with a 10-4 overall record and 0-2 start to league matches.
 
Led by Lena Kindermann's 14 kills, JSU hit .475 as a team and held the Lions to a .089 showing on the day.
 
After failing to reach double digits in the opening set, UNA was able to improve each game. In the third set, a kill by AK Griggs cut the JSU lead to 17-16. The Gamecocks, however, closed the game on an 8-0 run to end the match.
 
Taylor Floyd had eight kills to lead UNA. Elif Ozsoy recorded 24 assists Ella Ratzloff picked up 10 digs on the day.
 
North Alabama will return home next weekend to host a pair of ASUN matches. The Lions will host Bellarmine on Friday night and Eastern Kentucky Sunday afternoon.
