FLORENCE, Ala. (October 20, 2023) – With a strong contingency of teammates and supporters in attendance, University of North Alabama Cross Country runners Talon Pritchard and Traci Pettus represented the Lions at the Firehawk Invitational on Friday at McFarland Park.
 
This meet concluded UNA's regular season, as the Lions look ahead to next weekend's ASUN Championship meet on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Nashville.
 
Pritchard got things started on Friday morning in the men's 8K race, finishing with a time of 34:47.06 in his third race of the season. The senior trimmed six seconds off his previous race time at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville.
 
The women's 6K race took place shortly after, as Pettus ran a time of 25:02.34 to shave over a minute off her previous personal record. Her 18th place finish was the highest of her career and was the highest among all individuals not associated with a full competing team.
 
Next week's ASUN Championships will take place Saturday, Oct. 28 at Percy Warner Park in the Music City. The women's race starts at 10:15 a.m. and the men's race begins at 11 a.m.
