HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (October 30, 2023) – The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team competed in its first tournament of the inaugural fall season at the Huntsville Pairs Tournament this weekend in Huntsville, Ala.
The Lions competed against 13 other schools in the two-day tournament, leaving with a total of 14 wins on the day, with graduate student Mackenzie Martin and sophomore Selma Robinson securing a second-place finish in the bid championship bracket.
Martin and Robinson finished 4-2 in the tournament with the second-place finish, and graduate student Paula Klemperer and senior Taylor Seney secured a ninth-place finish with two wins of their own.
Two UNA pairings registered undefeated records in the outing, with freshman Hope Dicken and sophomore Christian Mitchell, as well as junior Ryenne Gepford and graduate student Kaitlyn Holbrook, securing two wins with no losses.
Returners Kati Anderson, Martha McLaurin and transfer Grace Austin all left Huntsville with a win to wrap up the weekend for the Lions.

UNA Beach Volleyball will be back in action this weekend when they take on two events to conclude their first fall season. Nov. 3-5 sees UNA taking on the AVCA Pairs National Championships in the return to Huntsville, while Nov. 4 finds the Lions heading to Birmingham for the Blazer Invitational.
