FLORENCE, Ala. (November 14, 2023) – The United Athletic Conference announced the 2024 football conference schedule on Tuesday afternoon, as the 2023 regular season officially comes to a close this upcoming weekend.
Next season, the University of North Alabama will participate in eight conference games — four at home and four away — starting with a home game against the newest member of the league and traditional rival West Georgia on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Braly Stadium.
The non-conference schedule will be announced at a later date along with kickoff times, special events and promotions.
"Playing an eight game conference schedule takes us to elite conference status," said UNA head coach
Brent Dearmon, who will complete his first season at the helm this weekend at Florida State. "We will once again have one of the toughest schedules in the country, which will prepare us for where we want to be."
UNA's four home games during UAC play include West Georgia (Sept. 28), Abilene Christian (Oct. 12), Austin Peay (Nov. 2) and Southern Utah (Nov. 16).
Meanwhile, the Lions will be on the road for its four additional conference games, including trips to Utah Tech (Oct. 5), Central Arkansas (Oct. 26), Eastern Kentucky University (Nov. 9) and Stephen F. Austin (Nov. 23).
SFA, Southern Utah and West Georgia are the only three opponents on the 2024 schedule that did not play UNA in 2023. The only team to roll off of UNA's schedule next season is Tarleton State.
