PDF UNA Season Beach Stats

YOUNGSVILLE, La. --  The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team swept its matches on the second day of the Mardi Gras Invitational at Sugar Beach, downing Texas A&M-Kingsville 4-1 and Nicholls 5-0.

The Lions went 3-1 in the event and have now won nine of their last 10 matches. UNA is 12-7 overall.

In the opening match the Lions and Javelinas split the first two pairs, with UNA getting a three-set win at No.5 and A&M winning in three sets at No. 4. The Lions then added a 21-17, 21-18 win at No. 3 by Marti McLaurin and Selma Robinson to give UNA a 2-1 lead.

North Alabama then clinched the team win with a 21-15, 21-15 straight set win at No. 2 by Mackenzie Martin and Katy Floyd. A UNA win at No. 1 made the final count 4-1.

In the second match, UNA got wins at No. 4 and 5 and clinched the win with a 21-8, 21-8 dominating performance at No. 1 by Taylor Seney and Mackenzie Martin.

The Lions then added a win at No. 2 and No. 3 for the 5-0 win.
