TUNICA, Miss. -- After firing a sizzling seven-under-par 281 to lead after the opening round, the University of North Alabama men's golf team finished one over for the day but is just two strokes off the lead at the Tunica National Intercollegiate. The Lions 577 total is just off the pace of Arkansas State at 575.
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday.
Individually, UNA's
Francois Jacobs led the tournament individually with a 68 in the first round but a second round 80 dropped him back to 25th. His brother
Andre Jacobs had rounds of 70 and 68 to rank second at 138 entering the final round.
Niko Nebout is tied for 22nd (147),
Carter Goodwin is tied for 34th (149) and
Henry Frizzell is tied for 45th.
The Lions previous best team finish at the ASUN Championships was fifth in 2021.
