DELAND, Fla. -- After making a historic run to the ASUN Conference Softball Championship game, the University of North Alabama had three Lions named to the All-ASUN Tournament team.
Senior pitcher
Maci Birdyshaw of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., sophomore pitcher
Elena Escobar of Spring Hill, Tenn., and junior outfielder
Felicity Frame of McCalla, Ala., were among 13 players overall selected for the team.
Birdyshaw posted a 3-1 record with a 3.05 ERA in 20.2 innings pitched. That record included a complete-game shutout of 18th ranked Central Arkansas. She only walked three batters and struckout 12.
Escobar finished with a 1-1 record in the tournament in 20.1 innings pitched. She had a 3.10 ERA and recorded 13 strikeouts.
Frame hit .348 to lead the Lions in the six games in tournament play. She had eight hits, scored four runs and added a walk and a stolen base.
