Georgia Land of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and sophomore second baseman
Hailey Jones of Summertown, Tenn., have been named to the 2023 All_ASUN Conference Softball Team in voting by the league's head softball coaches.
Land was named second-team All-ASUN, while Jones was a third-team selection. Jones was also a second-team All-ASUN pick in 2022, while Jones was named to the ASUN All-Freshman team.
Land is hitting .353 this season with seven home runs and 26 runs batted in. She has started all 45 games for the Lions in 2023 and boasts a .462 on base percentage and a .595 slugging percentage. A four-year starter for the Lions, Land has started 150 of the 152 career games that she has played at UNA. She has a .311 career batting average with 123 hits, 62 runs scored and 95 runs batted in.
Jones is hitting .338 and leads UNA with 31 runs batted in and 17 extra-base hits. She has also started all 45 games and leads the Lions with 74 total bases. Jones has a .325 career batting average at UNA with 60 runs scored and 61 runs batted in in just two seasons.
Land and Jones have helped lead UNA to a 30-14-1 regular season record and No. 5 seed in the ASUN Conference Tournament,
The Lions play Jacksonville at 4:30 today in their opening game of the tournament.
