MACON, Ga. (April 8, 2024) – Junior golfer Jahnavi Prakhya closed out the first day of the Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, Ga. tied for third place, as the University of North Alabama women's golf team sits in seventh place after two rounds. UNA enters the final round of the event on Tuesday just seven strokes out of third place.
 
North Alabama closed out the first two rounds of the Brickyard Collegiate with a 610 total after rounds of 300 and 310. Host Mercer leads the event with a sixteen-over-par 592 total entering the third and final round of the event. UAB and Southern Miss round out the top three, with USM just seven strokes ahead of the Lions. Central Arkansas, UNC Asheville and Belmont separate UNA and the Golden Eagles with the Lions leading Seminole State and Southern Illinois. 
 
Prakhya led all North Alabama golfers after stringing together rounds of even-par 72 and three-over-par 75 for a 147 total. The junior was tied for first place entering her final two holes of the evening before suffering a setback with a pair of bogeys and finishing tied for third place. 
 
Tori Roush enters the final round tied for 10th place after putting up a 149 total in the first two rounds. Roush is seeking the highest tournament finish of her career after setting the mark earlier this season with a 15th place finish in the APSU Intercollegiate on Sept. 26. 
 
Hannah Dees and Allycia Gan exit the first day of the tournament tied for 40th place with 160 totals while Kerigan Klauber is in 49th place with a 167 two-round score. 
 
Prakhya led all individuals with eight birdies, while Tori Roush picked up five birdies on her day. The pair combined for 13 of UNA's 15 birdies. Five of UNA's 15 birdies came on the 12th hole. 
 
UNA returns to play on Tuesday, April 9 with the third and final round of the Brickyard Collegiate.
