FLORENCE, Ala. (August 26, 2024) – The United Athletic Conference announced its first edition of weekly awards on Monday, naming redshirt senior safety
Gregory Reddick as Co-Defensive Player of the Week and rookie running back
Jalen Fletcher as Freshman of the Week.
Fletcher and Reddick become the fifth and sixth players from UNA to win a weekly award in the UAC's two-year history. Current Lions
Takairee Kenebrew,
Philjae Bien-Aime and
Jyheam Ingram are among the past winners.
Reddick was a force on the gridiron this past Saturday against SEMO, recording a game-high 12 tackles to fall just two shy of the FCS Kickoff game record. He also forced a fumble on a strip sack, which was recovered by teammate

Additionally, Reddick is the second-leading tackler in FCS following Week 0, where six teams were in action.
Fletcher made his collegiate debut in the second half of Saturday's game, taking the final carry of the third quarter for a 26-yard down the UNA sideline. The freshman from West Morgan High School finished with three carries for 42 yards to average 14.0 yards per carry. He added a reception for 11 yards on a screen pass.
Tarleton State's Kayvon Britten was the Offensive Player of the Week, Kasyus Kurns shared Defensive Player of the Week honors with Reddick and Adrian Guzman was the Specialist of the Week.
